Promoting Friday: WillowTreeMinerals

Hello guys and gals! I'm deciding to promote others on Fridays now, and I thought a good way to start it off is by promoting people I buy from online.

My most favorite of all websites to buy from is Etsy, and most people on there like to create wholesome good products from non-toxic ingredients.

If most of you are like me, you are especially cautious about the products you use on your skin. I mean, our skin is our larget organ after all. So why shouldn't you take caution?

That's why I always buy vegan/natural make-up. That way I know it's not being tested on animals or will be harmful to my skin, especially since I battle acne rosacea.

So here it is, a wonderful etsy shop that sells makeup for a decent price and isn't bad for you! Yay!

Willow Tree Minerals Etsy Shop

I've ordered from Lora quite a few times, and the products are always wonderful. I've ordered foundation, eyeliner, mascara, and just the other day I bought nail polish.

This shop is wonderful, and I h…

Inspiration Wednesday

So I've decided to go back to my roots and post quotes on Wednesdays again. I just feel like quotes make the world go round, don't you?

Here's my latest favorite quote:

Time is a tree (this life one leaf) but love is the sky and I am for you just so long and long enough  -E.E. Cummings

Isn't it beautiful?
Have a wonderful Wednesday! -Kai

My New Year's Resolution

I know that I haven't been keeping up with this blog much, and I keep changing my mind on what I should focus on. But now that a new year is coming up, and my desire to be an author grows every year. I've decided that I need to make huge changes with my life.

First of all, I really need to keep on this blog and on Twitter. You guys are my only hope of my dreams succeeding, so I need to keep promises to you guys.

Second of all, I really need to pick a damn title for this blog and stick with it. Seriously. First I just wanted to write about my journey to becoming a published author. Then I wanted to write about my health journey. Maybe I should just do both.

So that means I'll be making big changes to this blog, and doing my best to keep up with it. I know I've failed at this in the past, but I need to change and I need it now.

Hopefully you'll keep up with me, and we can share our victories as we go along in this world.

Gaining Weight: Eat, Eat, and Eat!

Hello, my fellow bloggers!

As some of you may know, I struggle a lot with gaining weight. But slowly and surely I've gained about 6 pounds over the past few months. Finally!

So what's my secret? Eat. Eat. and Eat. and Eat some more.

I know what you're saying. "But I already eat enough!" or "I can't eat anymore." or "It's just too hard."

Well then you might as well call it quits cause you'll never gain any weight with that attitude.

Trust me, I've been in your spot. I've made all the excuses, including "I think I have food allergies." or "Something is wrong with me."

If your stomach literally hurts throughout the day, aching and gnawing. Ask yourself, "Have I eaten anything?" If you haven't, then eat! That's your stomach tossing and churning it's acid, and it will make you sick. Really sick to your stomach. I've been there, and I won't go back.

I know you're still saying, but I …

Masala Chai Tea: It's Amazing.

While I was on vacation, I went to an Indian resteraunt and had the best food I've ever had. Other cultures always have way more vegetarian options than any other American ones.

I don't know if you've ever been to Indian resteraunt or any other culture owned one to be exact, but they're quite intidmidating at first. They don't always have a lot of customers, and it's always confusing on if you seat yourself or not. But don't be intimidated, they always have amazing food!

So while we were at this resteraunt, I ordered Palak Paneer. If you've never tried it, you need to now! I have never been more satisfied with a meal than I was on that day, and there was plenty enough for a second dish to take back to the hotel. That made me extra happy.

But the best part of the whole meal was the chai tea. Oh my Lanta. I have never been to heaven (not that I believe in it), but that's the closest I'll ever get to heaven. I am a tea fanatic, if you didn't know,…

Sex, Drugs, & Alcohol

So I know I haven't posted in a very long time, and I feel bad that I haven't done so. If you follow my blog, you may know that I go through periods of depression, and lately, it's been an on and off thing for me.

I've been thinking about how much I want to obtain my dream of becoming a published author and hopefully making a career out of it, but it seems lately that I just feel nothing more than cursed. I would say I'm a good person. I don't do drugs or drink. I'm a very caring person, but it just keeps biting me in the ass.

I watch all the kids around me screw around with their lives like its no big deal. I mean, literally, kids down alcohol like there's no tomorrow, and it disgusts me. Same thing with drugs. It seems as if these kids never get any consequences in their lives, and they get to live carefree and happy while I'm miserable.

It just seems completely unfair in the grand scheme of things. Why would someone like me get screwed over and over…

Stress & Fatigue: Is it Adrenal Fatigue or Starvation?

Sorry guys for not posting in a long time. My health has been all sorts of crazy lately. I've been super stressed and super fatigued.

Which brings me to another conclusion I have. Obviously I don't have food sensitivities. I know I do have low stomach acid. But what if my problem isn't exactly what I'm eating. What if I'm not eating enough?

I hate thinking that I could have an ED, but it's starting to make more sense to me. Sometimes I really can't eat enough, but the weeks that I do eat enough, my energy levels are better than usual.

I thought I had adrenal fatigue, which is when you're fatigued despite having lots of sleep. My energy is also a lot higher during the nighttime rather than in the morning. Which is not fun. Not at all.

It's almost unbearable to live this way. I have no motivation. No energy. It's a vicious cycle that I'm living in right now, and I refuse to keep living this way.

Now I don't remember exactly how I came across th…

Food Intolerances & Allergies: You Most Likely Have 'Em

Do you suffer from stomach distress, insomnia, weight problems, or even constipation/diarhea? Does it seem like you've tried everything but can't find a rememdy.

Well, you might just be suffering from a food allergy/intolerance.

A lot of you might know by now that I deal with a lot of health problems. And by a lot, I mean a helluva lot.

My problems started when I was 14 and randomly dropped 15 pounds with no real cause. I even lost this weight before I went vegetarian, so my mom was still feeding me back then. Shortly before or after, I started having horrible PMS and developed rosacea.

It's been a few years later, and I now deal with even more problems. My teeth are decaying. I deal with adrenal fatigue, constipation, and horrible stomach aches.

I've tried literally everything. Eating more. Going gluten free. Adding more magnesium. Taking bentonite clay. I've tried all the obvious ones, but I think I've finally found what's wrong with me.

About a few months ago,…

Peanut Butter Dough Recipe

So I had an ingenious idea today.

I've been needing ways to incorporate more healthy foods and calories into my diet, and so far, I've figured out that I should eat a good portion of my calories from fruits and vegetables. Next in line comes legumes.

I have it planned down to eating about 500 calories in fruits and veggies. Another 500 in smoothies. Another 500 in home cooked meals. So where would I get another 500 calories from?

Well lately I've been needing some type of food to take to work. I'm really picky about what I eat there. We do have a microwave, but sometimes certain foods just don't appeal to me. I know, I'm weird.

But I had a brilliant idea while sitting at work. What if I could take peanut butter and mix it with some type of flour? Wouldn't that make a dough, per say?

Well, I tried it, and it's brilliant!

If you mix your favorite peanut butter, and whatever preferable flour you choose. I personally chose oat flour because I'm trying to stee…

Acne & Rosacea: Make-up Tips

For someone who has long dealt with rosacea, I thought I should give my own tips for those of you who are struggling to find balance with such red skin.

My very first tip to give you is to ditch your commercial make-up. No, seriously, do it. First of all, you have no clue what's in that stuff. So many toxins that are aggravating your rosacea even worse. If you don't believe me, I am directing you to my post on scary ingredient in face wash. You need a kick start in opening your eyes to the world:

If you can handle it, I highly highly suggest to go without make-up for quite a while. This may be easy for some of you if you're in high school and have summer coming soon. But if you have a job, it might not be an option for you. But don't worry, you don't have to ditch make-up altogether to heal your rosacea.

Now that you understand how important it is for you to ditch your crappy make-up, it&…

Happiness: A How To Post

So you've found this blog. There's only one reason you found it: You're unhappy. Or maybe you're trying to cure your rosacea, but that's beside the point.

It sucks to be stuck in that inbetween space. The space where you feel like nobody gives two craps about you and you also don't give two craps as well. You count all the unlucky shit that happens to you. You expect the worst and receive the worst.

I know. I've been there.

So how do you get out of this space?

Maybe you're unhappy because you haven't reached your dreams, hate your job, feel unloved. You basically feel so paralyzed that you don't know what to do.

Well there's only one thing you can do. Stop comparing. Yes, I mean it. I know you do this. I did this way too often. I compared my unlucky streak to the brats around me who got everything in return for giving nothing. Why can't I be that lucky?

To be honest, I bet those people who are so-called lucky aren't so happy either. They j…

Failing: An Inspirational Quote

Lately, I've been dealing with a lot of stress and difficulty in being motivated, and for anyone else that's in the same boat, I decided to look up a quote to motivate you.

Things have been getting better lately, so I promise, that light will come for you. It just takes time for the light to hit good people. I'll never know why. Maybe it's because we give that light to other people. Who knows.

So here's a quote for you:

Defeat is not the worst of failures. Not to have tried is the true failure. -George E. Woodbury

This is why I will keep striving to become a published author. I do not want to give up on my dreams like all the other kids did at my school. Instead of attempting for their dreams, they accepted the failure and went to college. I refuse to give up. College can only take you so far, but your dreams can take you anywhere. Just as long as you try.

Debunking Rosacea: Food Allergies

I've been researching rosacea for a long time now. About 5 years. I've been successful in not healing per say, but I have reduced the redness that occurs on my cheeks, forehead, and chin. There's a lot of factors to consider on what could cause your rosacea.

My biggest cause would be skin care products in the past. So I'm asking you, do you still use commercial face products? As in, do you buy your products at the store? Or even worse...the evil Proactiv. Which I am totally against for many reasons. I mean seriously, if you own that stuff, I dare you to figure out all the ingredients in it. Do you even realize what you're putting on your face? Things like oil, the very oil you put in your car? Why the hell would you put that on your face?

So why are you using it? Might as well dump gasoline on your face the next time you visit the gas station, am I right?

So your not using any commercial face products, none whatsoever. So what could be causing your rosacea to get wors…

Celiacs: More Common Than Thought.

Hello, my lovely readers. I know I've been gone for a while, but I have some news to share with you. I've finally come across what's wrong with me. I'm a celiac.

Never heard of it?

Celiacs is a condition where your body sees gluten as threat, so in return, your body attacks it.

Yeah, it's not fun.

Last week, I went gluten free for five days and noticed tremendous differences.

My major concern disappeared: My constipation.

I literally tried everything from fiber to more water, but going gluten-free moved my flow in about two days.

I also noticed that gluten causes mucus to form in my throat, my stomach to swell, and my left leg to ache.

I'm also guessing that it causes my weight problems because it's inflamming my stomach and not allowing me to absorb nutrients.

So  could you be celiac?

Here's some things to ask yourself:

Are you full after barely eating much food? And I mean, full and bloated for literally hours? I once ate food and was bloated for three hours. …

Cavities: The Sugar Conspiracy

On my journey to remineralizing teeth, I've been looking at what truly causes decay. Of course what modern society theories tell us are always wrong. Such as: if you don't brush your teeth, you'll get a cavity!

That theory is so beyond wrong...

But then there's the same old mantra dentist always say: Sugar causes cavities.

Is this theory true? At first I thought it was bogus. I mean hell, I've been eating a pretty clean diet the last few years. Not very many junk foods, but I was still eating a high amount of sugar. Just no soda or excess amount of chocolates involved.

Now here's a little passage taken from:
"Sugar plays a harmful role in tooth decay. The bacteria that form together to become plaque use sugar as a form of energy."

Now I think that first sentence is kind of true. The second sentence I haven't entirely figured out if its true. On one hand, bacteria does not cause tooth decay. But does it ca…

Are Parasites Wreaking Havoc On Your Body?

By now, all of you should know that I suffer weight problems. Not the usual, "I can't lose weight!" But the total opposite, "I can't gain weight!"

I know most of you would die to have this problem, but what if the underlying problem I have is killing me, literally? Then would you want it? I sure as heck don't!

It bothers me how so many people comment on my weight. I'm 5'1 and weigh 93 pounds on a good day. It dips back and forth from 90 to 93 to 95, but I can never keep my weight steady. No, I do not have eating problems. No, it's not because of my vegetarianism. So many people out there are vegan. Hell, there's vegan bodybuilders out there that look incredible.

I actually lost an unexpected 15 pounds about five years ago before I went vegetarian. In a way, vegetarianism saved me because I seriously could not keep weight on.

But I need to take a step back even farther than this: to the place where I believe all my problems began. About five …

Inspirational: My Favorite Quote

Today is a day for inspiration. I've gone through a lot of things in my life, including depression, but I believe that everything that I've gone through has molded me into the person I am today. I have the perfect quote that can say it in better words than I could ever.

"The flower that blooms in adversity is the most rare and beautiful of all." -Mulan.

I hope everyone has a wonderful weekened. I will continue posting on Monday.

Healing Cavities: The Journey Begins.

Although I've yet to see initial changes in my teeth so far (I fell off track for a while), I'm going to give it my all and push for greater results.

I believe the key to healing our teeth begins with food as always: No processed foods. No gluten (Just in care you're intolerant, since gluten sensitivities will prevent absorption of nutrients). All whole foods. High end supplements.

Now what type of foods will I be eating?
-Fruits and vegetables
-Organic dairy
-Soaked, sprouted, and cooked beans/grains
-My mind is blanking right now...

I do not eat meat for ethical and health reasons. No I will not shove my vegetarianism down your face as long as you don't shove your views down mine. This is about our health after all, and I believe we can all learn from each other.

Some other things I am incorporating in my diet are:
-Fermented Cod Liver Oil/ Butter Oil
-Calcium Bentonite Clay
-Diotamcious Earth
-Healthforce Vitamineral Green
-Healthforce Fruit of the Earth
-Healthforce Earth

Weight Gain: My Journey

I know I've been gone for a few months. I've been needing time to recollect my thoughts and put myself together. A lot of stressful things have happened that disrupted my life, but I'm back this time. I plan on staying.

I want to share my journey on gaining weight. There's not much information on the web if you're in desperate need in gaining a few pounds. I would know. I've been looking for a long time, and although I've yet to gain weight, I'm trying my hardest to do so. And as I do gain this weight, I'll share my insight with all of you.

So far, I've discovered it's not as simple as just eating "enough calories". This is a damn lie. It's only partially true. Over the last two weeks, I ate a solid 2k calories. I did gain two pounds, BUT I had to constantly eat all day long. Which is not something I can keep up with. Sometimes I do not have breaks at work, which means I work 5-6 hour shifts without eating more that a few hundred…
