Fist Pump! Okay. Okay. That was a joke. I swear. Well, unless some of you are Jersey Shore fans. *Begins to slowly creep away*
I don't know how many of you truly watch the Jersey Shore, but I have watched it a few times. And quite frankly, I think it's ridiculous. Why would anyone want to watch a bunch of idiots get drunk? Plus, they're getting paid to do so. I bet that's just a great life they have *sarcasm, if you didn't catch it*.
And to think every kid in my high school loves that show. It makes me sick. What great models they have. OH, hey let's all get drunk like the Jersey Shore. Fist Pump! They even have a day dedicated to them which is on Thursday, and the girls all scrunch their hair and wear slutty clothes. Yay! We're teenagers, but we don't care about how others think because we're all stupid.
Figures. And it's sad that most of the girls in my school are obsessed with tanning. It makes me sick to see how much money they spend on destr…
Since I've seen so many of these posts lingering around on my friend's blogs, I decided to do this post since I failed to come up with another short story for Friday. I'm hoping this makes up for it since I am taking an excerpt from my current novel, The Wanted Rose. It's a young adult science fiction romance which is still in the editing stages. I've been editing this thing for over 4 months, and I'm still not done!
The rules for the Lucky Seven Meme are:
1. Go to the 77th page of your current manuscript.
2. Go to line 7.
3. Copy the next 7 lines, sentences or paragraph, and post them as they are written.
4. Tag 7 others and let them know.
From The Wanted Rose:
Finally, I found something to take my thoughts off Kinset: my ship. The engine roared to life as I turned on the ignition and off I went, humming to the sound of the revving, wishing I had someone to race with. The galaxy sparkled with thousands of dots, twinkling in a pattern like a cadence to the e…
Who's excited for the Hunger Games movie? I know I am!
I also finished the book in 3 days and was highly surprised by it. I had low expectations about it, but they were exceeded. The movie will most likely kick butt, especially during the games.
I'm so darn afraid that I'll start bursting out in tears in the movie though for those of you who know what happens. I hope I can contain myself!
For those of you debating on reading the book, I say go for it. I doubted myself many times, and then decided to push myself to read it. I couldn't put it down. Even though the choppy sentences annoyed me, the plot amazed me. Two scenes highly impressed me.
My Favorite scenes were with Rue and on top of the Cornucopia.
Anyways, I highly enjoyed the first one and plan to read the second. Suzanne Collins is wonderful at emotional/dramatic scenes, and I can't help but admire that.
Am I Team Gale or Team Peeta? I'm definitely Team Gale. He suits…
Guys you should just leave this post immediately, if you haven't already figured that out.
Anyways, for all you ladies, I know what your reaction to the words alternatives to feminine products must be. You're cringing, aren't you?
Well, if I educated you a bit, maybe you wouldn't be cringing so much. And by the way, your face might stay like that forever so stop the hideous faces! I command you to stop!
Whew! Now that that's done, let's get on with some understanding here. Do you really know what's in your feminine products? Do you honestly, truly, full-heartedly know what's in them? Have you ever checked? Have you ever researched it?
I bet you not. Well let me tell you something. Wait a minute. I better take this slow because this will be hard for you to take in all at once. Let's just say feminine products could be harming you more than helping you.
And now you're saying, "But what am I supposed to do? Alternatives are gross!"
The best thing about being a vegetarian in my opinion is learning about a whole new spectrum of foods(ones my family never really ate b4). And vegetarian foods can be eaten by all! Well, except vegans, considering they can't eat everything we can.
Some of my favorite foods I've come across have been:
Chia Seeds. These are extremely nutritious seeds containing lots of amino acids.
Coconut Milk. I think I'm addicted to anything coconut now, except for coconut shreds. Yuck!
Minnestrone Soup. The best soup I've ever had! You can even order it at Olive Garden!
Spicy Burrito Recipe. I concocted it all on my own and have uploaded the recipe.
Guacamole. Super nutritious and high in calories if made to be.
Now I now some of you have seen most of these foods before, but I just can't help but mention how great these foods are. I can't live without my coconut milk nor my Madagascan vanilla ice cream!
There's a man out in the distance, but you disregard him. Then suddenly, you glance back to take another look. This time you look at the man more clearly. Is it a man? But it can't be! It just can't! He's slender as a stick, and his arms...They're multiplying?! This can't be more than a mirage, but may your ignorance not be bliss because you might have just encountered...The Slender Man.
The Slender who? You think I'm kidding, right? I'm a madman gone on the loose, but what about Big Foot or the Moth Man. Were they real? Do they exist? Will anyone ever know the answer to these darn questions!?
Well, I'm here to inform you of another mythical/urban legend creature, and he goes by the name Slender Man. If you've never heard of him before, you might just want to stop reading now because others are scared sh!tless of him. And while he may or may not be real, what he's capable of is pretty scary, if true.
I know I was supposed to post a short story, but I'm so busy lately that I can't. So to make it up to you guys, I will post a link of another blogger's post that I was intrigued by. So please visit it!
One of my favorite authors, Maggie Stiefvater, is coming out with a new book, called The Raven Boys. If you've never heard of her before, she wrote The Shiver Trilogy, Lament, Ballad, and The Scorpio Races. She's a wonderful writer, and the whole reason I began writing in the first place. When I read Shiver, which is about a girl who watches the wolves in her back woods and falls in love with one of the werewolves, it impacted me in a way I can't explain. It made me want someone to have such deep emotions about my first book which I began writing two years ago.
Anyways, her style is much different from others. Her stories aren't too complicated. They are about real life things, but with paranormal elements such as fairies, werewolves, and water horses. She has wonderful imagery and can impact you so hard with her stories. I cried in most of her books. And she doesn't write for the money. She pitched out one of her drafts once because she hated it that much. She did…
Anyone who has been to my blog before knows that I deal with problems gaining weight. However, I've figured out what I'm doing wrong, and how I can help others avoid my mistakes.
Now if you didn't know, three years ago, before I even turned vegetarian, I lost 15 pounds. I went from 105 to 90, and it quite frankly, scared the living hell out of me.
Again, as I always say, you must, must, must thoroughly educate yourselves. It is the most beneficial thing anyone can do for themselves. I realized the first thing I had done wrong. I didn't eat enough. I ate less than 2k calories everyday for 3 years, and now I decided to change my habits. In order for anyone to gain weight, you must eat more calories in a day. Up your intake by 500 each day until you notice yourself gaining weight. You don't have to force food down your own throat. Some bodies need different amounts. I need around 2k-3k calories in order to gain a pound every other day. My boyfriend on the other hand onl…
I cannot stress more to anyone looking to change their lifestyle to educate themselves. It is the first, most important thing anyone should do when thinking about making a major change in your life, especially when becoming a vegetarian/or vegan. It can be very confusing, ineffective if you do not educate yourself. I'm serious. I cannot stress this enough.
When I first became a vegetarian, I tried to educate myself but failed. This resulted in me ending up with iron anemia. Iron anemia is when you feel so lethargic 24/7 and absolutely have no energy. I was miserable until I educated myself and learned better, so I'm here to educate you and provide you with some websites if you are looking into becoming a vegetarian/or vegan.
The first, most important, thing is protein. Now I know a lot of you out there think that its oh-so-impossible for us vegetarians to get enough protein but boy are you wrong. Where do you think cows, who are vegans, get their nutrients from, huh? Well, the t…
I don't know about you, but I haven't seen too many great role models in the celebrity world lately. Most singers sing about sex, drugs, and money, on radios that teenagers, I repeat teenagers, listen to all the time. These kids don't even know what the hell they're even listening to, yet they keep singing all the words to all the songs.
And it's not even just singers. MTV promotes the Jersey Shore which the cast gets paid to get drunk off their asses and have sex. Teenagers watch that, and the rave about it. Wonderful thing for this generation to watch, right? They all end up getting the wrong impression of life and what's important.
Now maybe 90% of the celebrity world is a bad influence, but not all of it is. I personally have to favorite influential teen celebs: Ariana Grande and Taylor Swift.
First of all, Taylor Swift is a wonderful, and I mean wonderful, role model. She sings about true love, and everything about her music is innocent. There's such pur…
To make things a little easier to navigate, I'm adding this page on to help you find my rosacea posts easier. For a long time, I didn't know what I wanted this blog to be exactly about, but now I know that I want to dedicate it to rosacea. So in order to not get lost through all my other petty posts, I'm making a list here. I'll also be regularly making new rosacea posts and trying to add them onto here.
I have gotten my idea from The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess, if any of you are familiar with that game.
Agatha sat in the middle of her flora green room, staring down onto the grass green shag rug beneath her. A line of marching ants crawled across the rug, wading through the blades of cotton, towards the window sill to Agatha's right. She stared at the ants with a frown and followed them, closing the window to imprison the ants, closing out all the warm, breezy air. Even with the path closed, the ants continued marching like little amoebas wandering around in disarray. Agatha tugged on her long blonde curls and grunted, crossing her arms across the chest of her floral, pink dress. "Why must you leave?" she asked the ants. "I only wanna be friends." Agatha waited and waited, hoping the ants would suddenly change their minds and stay, but as expected, they didn't. The ants kept trying to find their way out, kept marching in one long, straight line.…
Everytime I go to look at a book on Amazon and I preview the first few pages, I find the worst openings ever. They don't start out with actions. They start out with narration, and it quite frankly, gets on my damn nerves. It's like authors are getting lazier and lazier. This is what makes me uncertain about self-publishing my book because more and more self-published books are being put out there, and they're getting worse and worse. I don't want mine to be overlooked and thought, "well, this is just another self-published piece of crap". That would make me sad because I've spent so much time on this book that it's ridiculous. 1 year of writing. 4 months of editing. And it's not done! But I'm digressing. I really wanted to talk about the Hunger Games since it's coming out soon as a movie. I mean, it's been in the top 100 of Amazon for books for 903 days which is amazing. From the commercials, it looks like a pretty good movie, but what…
