An Odd Week

Sorry that I have not been posting like I promised. This week has been truly frustrating for me, and my emotions have been like a major roller coaster. I will resume with my regular posting next week.

Enjoy this wonderful picture of a sand-sculpture!

Short Story!

My first short story post! And it's an omitted scene from my finished book, told in the main guy's perspective. If you don't know anything about my book, it's told in two perspectives, Rusty(a girl) and Vaan(the guy). Maybe if you guys end up like this omitted scene, I could post the 1st chapter to the real thing, maybe. I am very protective over my story, so it depends on if I receive enough comments on this snippet from it.
Now, let's remember, I omitted this scene before I ever went into the revising/editing stages, but I tried my best to spice it up just for you guys.
And here it is:
The dream started out like any other—the ones that keep haunting me. I stand on the dirt plateau millions of miles high above the ocean as she holds my hand, and we gaze out into the peach colored horizon armed with millions of black clouds.
“Forever?” she asks as we stand on the edge, staring out into the depths of the deep blue sea. Waves crash, perilously, against the plateau’s…

Book Review: Sea Change by Aimee Friedman

To be honest, I've never done a book review, but this book has tempted me to do it (with its beautiful cover and all). It's so magical that I just had to do as it asked.

Since I've never done a book review before, I'll make up some guidelines for myself. I will rate this book based on the writing, characters, and storyline. Plus, I'll give an overall rating, too.

First off, I should give you a summary of the book which comes from the back cover:
Sixteen-year-old Miranda Merchant is great at science...and not so great with boys. After major drama with her (now ex) boyfriend, she's happy to be spending the summer on small, mysterious Selkie Island, helping her mother sort out her late grandmother's estate.

On the lush, beautiful island, Miranda finds new friends and a community with a mystical history, presenting her with facts her logical, scientific mind can't make sense of. She also meets Leo, who challenges everything she thought she knew about …

Oil Better Than Water?

Oil is better than water? Are you kidding me?

No, siree, I am not kidding you.

Over the past few months, I've had a horrible time trying to get my makeup off, and every time I wore, I'd break out the next day. Every single time I tried to wash off all my makeup, it just wouldn't come off, ever! I have never been so frustrated trying to take up off makeup. I even tried scrubbing, scrubbing with a towel, using those towelette things, basically everything.

I about had it with makeup altogether. And my skin has some pretty bad issues after using Proactiv three years ago. I ended up developing rosacea which causes the skin around my nose and chin to look inflamed. But don't worry, it's been getting much better over the last three years to the point where it doesn't even look there. If anyone else has it, I'll do another post soon to tell you how I've made it get better.

I'm digressing...Anyways, I used my lavender oil the other day because it helps with my su…

Minestrone Soup!

My most favorite recipe I’ve ever made has to be Minestrone Soup. It was actually one of the first soups I’ve ever made in my life. I had it once at Olive Garden, and from the on out, I was hooked! I knew I had to make it myself, so I searched and searched online for a good enough recipe, and finally I found one, but I changed it up quite a bit. And this is what you can do too once I give you the recipe.

Now here’s what you’re going to need:

Vegetable Broth (Enough to to make it soupy and cover all veggies, about 5-6 cans)
4-5 (or more, if you wish) large Potatoes (Skins removed, or kept, and chopped into small, not too small, pieces)
Okra (A handful perhaps, canned or fresh, though fresh is better)
Garlic (4-5 cloves, more or less if you want. I like more.)
Onions (1 medium)
Shredded Carrots
Diced Tomatoes (Omit, if you want OR use as much as you’d like.)
1-2 cups pasta (Shells or small pasta, pick your favorite. Whole wheat ones are good too, especially Ronzoni Whole Wheat egg noodles)
1/2 ca…
